Falmouth Artists Guild Highlights

LOBBY EXHIBITION
RISING STARS

RISING STARS features work by students from Bourne High School, Cape Cod Academy, Falmouth Academy and Falmouth High School.  The opening reception is on Sunday, January 29 from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm.  All welcome.  Exhibit runs from January 25 – February 12.

MAIN GALLERY EXHIBITION
WINTER WARMTH

Livvie's Ear by David E. Williamson

WINTER WARMTH in the main gallery features Glimpses, Still Life, Figure Painting and Portraits.  The exhibit runs from February 2 – 26.  Opening Reception:  Sunday, February 5 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

Paul Schulenburg Painting Demonstration

Cape Cod artist Paul Schulenburg will discuss and demonstrate his work on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00pm.  To complement the Winter Warmth Exhibit, he will bring examples of his portraits and interior paintings to illustrate his approach and style.  Paul will talk about choosing subject matter, effective lighting, and solutions for situations that can cause problems.  Using a photo and painting study, Paul will demonstrate his technique creating a larger, more finished version of the piece.  A $20 admission fee will be charged;  Student charge is $5.  Go to www.schulenburgstudio.com to learn more about Paul Schulenburg.  (Sun Dress by Paul Schulenburg shown below.)

SOMETHING NEW IN 2012

FIND YOUR FOCUS is a series of Workshops that will focus on specific challenges that students of art often encountered.  They will run on Fridays from 9:00 am to noon.  Register for one at a time.  $25 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
