The Falmouth Artists Guild is dedicated to the visual arts, providing educational and exhibition opportunities on a year-round basis.  We welcome students of all ages and abilities and all those who enjoy and appreciate art. We offer a full roster of classes and workshops. Come see the beautiful artwork in our two galleries which are open to the public. There is always artwork available for purchase.

Falmouth Artists Guild Highlights

 

Come to our 42nd Outdoor Tent Art Auction on Saturday, July 31.  Beautiful works by 50 of the Cape and Islands best artists will go home with the highest bidder. Shown above is a stunning oil painting by well known Cape artist Sam Barber. The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.  The live auction is from 10 am to noon.  Art works may be previewed from 9 to 10 am.  Click Here for more information.

Our important Summer Juried Art Show will run from Sunday July 25 to Sunday, August 15.  Art work shown will be in the following media: oils, acrylics, pencil, pen and ink, pastels, printmaking, watercolor and sculpture.  The opening reception will be Sunday July 25 from 2 to 4 pm.  Our juror will be the highly regarded oil painter Jo Ann Ritter, whose painting, Awnings at the B and B, is shown above. This is a wonderful opportunity for pastel painting beginners to learn the joys of painting on location.  Betsy Payne Cook will be giving a workshop on Wednesday and Thursday August 4 & 5 to plan for painting outdoors (Wednesday afternoon) and then to concentrate on a creating a plein air painting (Thursday).  Turn painting out doors into a fun and rewarding experience.  Click Here for more information.

Did you miss some of the best artwork by members in 2009?  From August 3 to 20 our Encore Artists show will display work by member artists who won awards in 2009.  Shown above is "Heron" by Joe Vitale which won Best Water Media in the Fall 2009 Juried Show.  Display will be in the lobby gallery.
